The Lagos and Osun State Governments yesterday declared tomorrow as work free day for public servants in commemoration of Isese Day.
The day is set aside to celebrate Yoruba culture and traditions as well as the preservation of the Yoruba heritage.
Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola said yesterday that though this Year’s Isese Day falls on Sunday today the declaration of tomorrow as work free by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu underscored his “commitment to continue to provide necessary support to traditional institutions in the State with a view to promoting our indigenous culture and tradition while preserving our heritage.”

In Osun State, the Information and Public Enlightenment Commissioner Kolapo Alimi said Governor Ademola Adeleke approved the holiday being the leader of a government that promotes oneness, unity, and religious harmony among practitioners of different religions.
Alimi, who urged Isese adherents to be peaceful in their celebrations further conveyed the governor’s compliment and best wishes to all traditional religious worshippers in the state on the occasion of the 2023 Isese Day. He also wished Isese adherents a peaceful and rewarding celebration.
