Fast rising music act, Olamide Ganiu Yusuf simply known as Lamide Green has hit the music industry with a new single, Iyawo, produced by Mr Stringz.
According to Lamide Green who is a Pharmacist and also runs a clothing line, Iyawo, which has been enjoying airplay on radio, means wife in Yoruba was inspired by his first love while in college in 2006.
‘The rhythm of the song just got to my head while I was sleeping and I woke to lace it with librettos,’ said Lamide Green, a graduate of Pharmacy Technology, Lagos State College of Health, Yaba and Environmental Biology, Lagos State University respectively.
‘My songs will definitely go along way because of its uniqueness with intensive lyrics. It’s a mixture of English and Yoruba language. Adding my songs to your playlist will revive the spirit of Africa in you.’
On his stage name, the act said Lamide was culled from his name, Olamide, while Green depicts ‘life.’
He also said his fans should expect more and different tunes from him as he is ‘ready to take the music industry by storm.’
