‘LASG didn’t remove RTEAN chairman’

The leadership of the Lagos State Parks & Garages Administrators (LASPAGA) has dispelled rumours doing the rounds that Lagos State Government removed  former Chairman of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) in the state, Alhaji Musa Muhammed from office.

In a statement, Secretary of LASPGA Alhaji Abdulrahman Amusan noted that members of the association had passed a vote of no confidence in the erstwhile helmsman.

The administrators said Muhammed’s removal was orchestrated by members of the association  following his alleged mismanagement of funds, abuse of office, high-handedness,among others.

“It has become imperative for us to put the records straight and also enlighten the public as well as the Trade Union Congress and the Nigeria Labour Congress that the Lagos State Government should be absolved from the crisis between we the members of Lagos State Parks & Garages Administrators (LASPAGA) and Alhaji Musa Muhammed.

“Muhammed’s  style of leadership was what lead to the fracas at Iyana Iba which prompted Lagos State Government to intervene in the  crisis and not  allow the situation degenerate into breakdown of law and order.

“We state in clear terms that the  State Government therefore has nothing to do with him and the purported court order of the National Industrial Court had already been appealed,” the statement said.
