Sen. Sunday Katung (PDP-Kaduna State) has distributed 950 bags of rice to vulnerable Muslims in his constituency as palliatives for the holy month of Ramada.
Danlami Shuaibu, Chairman of the distribution committee, presented the items on behalf of the lawmaker in Zonkwa.
He said the items included varieties of bags of rice including 50 bags of 50kg, 200 bags of 25kg and 700 bags of 10 kg of the commodity.

Katung said the items were for distribution based on the population of the Muslim community in each of the eight Local Government Areas in the zone.
According to him, the foodstuff was part of the Senator’s efforts in assisting the people in the sacred month as well as elevate conditions of the underprivileged.
He explained that proper arrangements had been made to ensure that the palliatives were not diverted and got to those who deserved it.
“We have formed sub committees that would go round to ensure that the items reach the most vulnerable members of our Muslim communities,” he stated.
