Nigeria international striker Victor Boniface is reportedly attracting interest from German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig following his stellar performances for Union St Gilloise in the on-going Belgian Jupiler league,
The Nigerian has been one of the best performers in the Europa League this season, scoring six goals in nine 10 games. In the league Boniface has scored seven goals and provided seven assists in 31 games.
Belgian news outlet, Voetbalkrant claimed RB Leipzig are not the only side interested in the forward. Union Berlin, who the Belgian Union St Gilloise knocked out of the Europa League, have reportedly shown interest. The Belgian side are willing to let the striker go but will be looking to break their own transfer record in the process.
For now, Boniface and Union are focused on the play-offs. The side are level on points with Genk at the top of the title group, with a chance at winning their first title for decades. They came close last year, but were pipped during the play-offs by defending champions Club Brugge.
The 22-year- old who signed a four-year contract with Union SG in August 2022, had previously played for Bodø/Glimt in the Norwegian league.
