Late minute goal from Ugochukwu Leonard handed Enyimba FC a 1-0 home win over NPFL debutants, Ikorodu United at the Umuahia Township Stadium yesterday in a Week Four tie.
The Lagos side came to the tie with nothing to lose and they almost held the People’s Elephant to a goalless draw before Leonard strike in the 89th minute gifted Enyimba the maximum points.
It was Enyimba’s first win of the season after two games and this victory came barely four days after the 2-0 triumph over visiting Vipers SC of Uganda in the CAF CL preliminary round second leg fixture played at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
