Former Kaduna State Governor, Ahmed Makarfi, has charged a frontline governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sani Abbas, a lawyer, to work with the masses to return the party to power in the state.
He said it was only the emergence of a PDP-led administration that can correct the anomalies caused by the ruling party.
Markarfi spoke when he received the aspirant who paid him a consultation visit to seek his support and blessing.
In a statement by Victor Matthew Bobai, Director of Public Affairs to Barr. Mohammed Sani Abbas Campaign Team, Senator Makarfi described Abbas as “a man of integrity”.
Makarfi said his goal was to see PDP take back power in Kaduna State and other parts of the country.
He said: “It is the masses that are still keeping me in politics today. Therefore, Barrister Sani Abbas must work with the masses and unite the great people of Kaduna State.”
He also advised the governorship hopeful to trust in God, because power comes from Him and He never fails.
Makarfi prayed for the entire Team Sani Abbas that God will protect them as they continue with their campaign, especially at the grassroots.
In his response, Abbas promised to galvanise the masses to rescue the state from maladministration.
He assured the PDP leader that he would continue to consult him to draw from his wealth of experience to advance the course of the state.
