Courage Education Foundation (CEF) in partnership with L’avenida Event Centre and Showgear Limited has announced a special independence edition of Make Music Lagos (MML) which will feature a free education benefit concert at the L’avenida Multipurpose Centre, Ikota, Lekki on Sunday 30th September.
This was made in a statement issued to The Nation yesterday by Showgear Limited, Lagos.
It’s schedule to hold at 4:pm prompt and will feature performances from Naija’s finest- BEZ, MELA, PERPIE SOUL, FOLABI NUEL, NOSA, RUBY GYANG, FEMI LEYE, AMBASSAGE, DREAM CATCHERS.
According to Mrs. Abimbola Ajagunna, the CEF Project Director, said the concert will help push for the awareness and finances needed to get more kids off the streets.
“we have chosen Make Music Lagos because its vision of bringing opportunity and knowledge to all resonates with the CEF vision which has so far touched the lives of 146 beneficiaries since its inception in 2006. With this benefit concert, CEF and its partners (L’avenida and Showgear) and stakeholders will get the opportunity to create awareness and raise funds to take children off the streets and get them into schools- where they belong.
Ajagunna further said CEF is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to empowering brilliant children from indigent homes, through the provision of high quality education.
“We currently supports children from the primary school level to the first-degree level, has a goal of supporting 500 children by the year 2020” she said.
Also, the Chief Operating Officer, Show Gear, Mrs Deola Akinyemi said it is an opportunity to extend Make Music Lagos beyond the World Music Day for a good cause in the area of education, which is a core pillar of the MML vision.
Adeola, who is the custodian of the MML initiative further said “If you are a lover of good music and are passionate about the plight street kids that are out of school, then you need to be at the Make Music Lagos Independence Concert to support a worthy cause and have some fun.”.
