Malami describes Wamakko as father, political leader

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Chika Malami (SAN) on Monday visited the Chairman, Senate Committee on Defence, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko where he described the former governor as a father and political leader.

Malami spoke while on a Sallah homage to Senator Wamakko at his Gawon Nama Sokoto residence.

The minister was accompanied by the former Deputy Governor of Kebbi State Bello Dantani Magaji, and Executive Director Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority, Alhaji Faruk Madugu, among others.

According to Malami, who said to the Senator that he was on transit to Abuja and deemed it imperative to call on him as a mark of respect and loyalty in accordance to tradition.

He further said he came to rejoice with him as their political father, leader and Senator.

While appreciating Wamakko for the warm reception given him,  Malami thanked him for the condolence message extended to him over the death of his four childhood friends who died last week in a car accident on their way to Kebbi State from Abuja for Sallah festival.  While receiving the minister and his entourage, Wamakko expressed shock over the death of his friends, describing the deceased as humble, friendly and respected individuals.
