A 65-year-old man, Patrick Kalu, has been arrested by Niger State Police Command for allegedly having anal sex with a 15-year-old boy.
Investigation showed the suspect, who lived at Railway Quarters, Minna abducted the boy and kept him in his home for over a year, sexually assaulting him on a daily basis.
A source alleged that the suspect lured the victim at Marino in Abuja on the pretext of securing him a job in Minna, adding that on getting to the city, he locked him in his home and sodomised him.
Kalu, who was paraded by the police, admitted having carnal knowledge of the boy. He attributed it to the devil.
Asked how he kept the boy in his home without him escaping or without the knowledge of anybody, Kalu said although he had three children from his late wife, he lived alone at the Railway Quarters, adding that he threatened the victim, to discourage him from escaping.
“Each time I leave home, I make sure I lock the doors and windows,” the suspect said.
Police spokesperson Abigail Unaeze said detectives nabbed Kalu based on a tip-off, adding that he had confessed and would soon be arraigned.
