The Abia State Police Command said it has arrested a man identified as Obinna Ibe, in connection with the abduction of three underage girls.
It was gathered that two of the girls whose whereabouts were still unknown, were siblings while the other is a member of the same community.
The missing girls were identified as Goodness Onyekwere,15, Ezinwanne Onyekwere, 16 and Viviane Ndukwe, 13.
Ibe was reportedly arrested by a team of operatives led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Isuochi who swung into action after a couple, Mr/Mrs Onyekwere Christian, and another parent, Mrs. Nneka Nwokoma, both from Achara and Amuda Isuochi, reported that their daughters had gone missing for one week without any trace.

It was gathered that the DPO and his team were able to trace the suspect, Obinna Ibe, from Achara community in the same LGA, to an undisclosed location where he was apprehended.
Confirming the incident, Police spokesperson, ASP Maureen Chinaka said: “They (DPO and his team) diligently pursued available leads and evidence to determine the whereabouts of the missing girls.
“As a result of meticulous investigative efforts, the police in that division successfully apprehended a suspect connected to the case.
“The individual, identified as Obinna Ibe from Achara Isuochi, was taken into custody and he confessed to his involvement in the incident.
“Shockingly, the suspect admitted to abducting the three young girls and transporting them to Ghana.
“The investigation is ongoing, and the matter will soon be brought to court for proper legal proceedings.”
