An Egor Magistrates’ Court sitting in Benin City, Edo State, has sentenced one Uyi Adams to one year imprisonment for attempting to steal a Honda city car.
The court was earlier informed by the police prosecutor, Sergeant Sunday Lucky, that Adams pretended to be insane when he was caught at the scene of the crime.
Lucky said the offence was committed in December 2015 at Akere Street, off Ologbosere Street, by Technical Road in Egor local government area of the state.
He said the convicted person was apprehended while trying to steal the car by using different keys to open the vehicle belonging to one Asaka Angela.
Lucky said the Honda car marked No Ben 537 LT was valued at N1. 8 million.
