Medical school honours Afe Babalola, others

National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN), Ijanikin in Lagos State, is set to award  legal luminary Aare Afe Babalola, and others, with a fellowship for his contributions  in the health sector.   College President, Prof. Akinsanya Osibogun, spoke  at a briefing to announce the 40th convocation of the college tomorrow.

“We will be recognising three fellows who have distinguished themselves in health , and Afe Babalola (SAN) will be awarded with honorary fellowship for his contributions  in the health sector,” he  said.

Osibogun noted that the college has produced about 7,500 specialists in federal medical centres and selected general hospitals.

Osibogun said the 416 graduating fellows were well trained  for six and seven years to provide safe healthcare.

He said 61 graduates would  be get Doctor of Medicine, while  14 postgraduate diplomas in Anaesthesia.

He said the college would  deploy technology for training and services. “One of the strategies is to leverage on technology and establish simulation centres in the six geopolitical zones…

“… we have one of such technology in Ijanikin and Abuja, we will make more in different states.
