The premier secondary school for girls in Nigeria, Methodist Girls High School, Yaba, Lagos is set to celebrate its 145th anniversary with a week-long schedule of impactful and educational events.
The celebration will kick off today and end on Sunday with a Holy Communion service, culminating in a grand reunion of alumnae from across the globe.
Throughout the week, attendees will enjoy cultural performances, sports competitions and awards honouring students, teachers and distinguished guests.

Speaking at a pre-anniversary news conference, the Head Teacher, Mrs. Oluyemisi Padonu, described Methodist Girls High School as a vibrant community of learners committed to academic excellence, personal development and social responsibility.
She said the school’s legacy stands out, especially as a mission-based institution for girls within a predominantly secular environment.
