The Technical Adviser of Nigeria National League (NNL) outfit, Mighty Jets Football Club of Jos, Usman Adams, has confirmed the signing of 25 new players ahead of the new NNL campaign, which will commence on the 5th of March 2017.
In a statement released by the club through its Media Officer, Mbum Ferdinand, Adams raided Plateau United to sign most of the players the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table-topper placed on transfer with expectation that their experiences would count in the quest for gaining promotion to the elite division at the end of the 2016/2017 NNL season.
Experienced former Plateau United goalkeeper, Abayomi Olorunda leads the pack of the players signed from Plateau United. Others are defenders, Adeiza Suberu and Charles Okafor with forwards, Caleb Baba, Emmanuel Odafe and midfielder Edward Bewarang.
Striker Moshood Kasali, who had a brief stint in Sudan is making a return, while Kolade Abobade who has had played for Plateau United and JUTH FC is returning to Professional football.
Another midfielder, Mamaya Yusuf, who played for Ranch Bees of Kaduna, Katsina United and Sharks of Port Hacourt is also recruited.
Meanwhile, 20 of the old players are retained to bring the total number of registered players for the new Season to 45.
The Alexander Noel Wukari-led management at the club have absolute confidence in the ability of the Usman Adams-led technical crew to lead the team to a greater height and wasted no time in approving the list submitted to the technical committee by the coaches.
Mighty Jets are expected to field a strong team in the league as well as the Federation Cup this season.
The draw for the NNL is expected to take place in Abuja on the 24th of February while the league commences on March 5.
