Nigerian National League (NNL) side, Mighty Jets International Football Club of Jos, have bolstered their squad with the signing of former Nigerian international winger David Solomon Abwo along with Chris Madaki, Bright Silas, Amos Gyang, among others.
Mighty Jets are striving to stage a return to the topflight from the lower league and have gone for experience players to achieve their goals.
Abwo, who boasts an impressive resume with stints in Europe and Africa, is expected to make his debut for the club against Wikki Tourists of Bauchi on December 21st at the Zaria Road Stadium in Jos.
The hitman’s last club was Çetinkaya Türk Spor Kulübü in Cyprus, where he played in 2018. Abwo’s illustrious career spans over 15 years, with notable clubs including Enyimba of Aba, JC Raiders of Jos, and several European clubs in Turkey, France, Poland, and Cyprus.

On the international stage, Abwo won the Africa Youth Championship with Nigeria’s U-20 team, the Flying Eagles, in 2005. He also clinched silver at the World Youth Championship in the Netherlands the same year and was part of the Nigerian team that participated in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. He is expected to bring his pool of experience to help the historic football club in the front line as he possesses an outstanding ability to deliver as expected.
Mighty Jets have also announced the signing of 16 new players, including Ekechi Chiamankpa, Emmanuel Odafe, Suleiman Yusuf, former Enyimba and Kano Pillars skipper Emmanuel Anyanwu.
Others are: James Katsina, Kamal Sikiru, Amos Dadung Gyang, Bright Silas, Caleb Rugasa, Safiyanu Abubakar, Joseph Joshua Oko, Andrew Omafu, Tehembe Akor and Chris Madaki.
With these new acquisitions, the Jos-based side is poised to make a strong impact in the NNL this season.
