Balogun said: We are privileged to honour Mr. Richard Mofe-Damijo with the Creative Industry Legend Award for his outstanding contribution to Nollywood and the broader creative sector. We must agree that the creative economy sector is growing. Where you see movies that produce under 200 million, crossing several billions at premieres on theirs, you know a lot of box office and successes.

The Nigerian creative sector is rising. Very recently, we saw some of our stars at 10 win a Grammy Award. These are encouraging and broaden our economy and provide opportunities for our teeny youths.

“Mr. Mofe-Damijo’s illustrious career as an actor, producer, and mentor has not only elevated the Nigerian film industry but has showcased the potential of our creative sectors on the global stage. His dedication and passion serve as an inspiration to many and highlight the significant role of the creative economy in Nigeria’s overall economic development.

“The role of the Nigeria-America Chamber of Commerce. As the first and oldest bilateral Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria, founded in 1960, the Nigerian American Chamber of Commerce has been instrumental in facilitating trade and investment, strengthening economic ties between Nigeria and the United States through networking, advocacy, and trade services, supporting economic diversification, promoting non-oil exports, and encouraging investment in emerging sectors.”
