Moffi inches closer to Ligue 1 top scorer

Nice striker Terem Moffi took advantage of a quiet round for the leading contenders to move within three goals of the top of the scoring charts.

Moffi scored his 16th goal of the season in Nice’s 1-1 draw at lowly Angers. The Nigerian broke the deadline in the fourth minute, tucking home from eight years after good work from Gaëtan Laborde.

Since joining Nice from Lorient early in the year, the Nigerian has netted four goals in his seven appearances to increase his goal tally to 16 having netted 12 with Lorient to be among the top scorers in the French top flight.

Moffi and his teammates will face a Herculean task when they welcome wounded PSG this weekend.

Kylian Mbappé and PSG have lost three of their last four games in all competitions, with head coach Christophe Galtier calling for a ‘reaction of champions’ ahead of Saturday’s trip to OGC Nice.

Mbappé will hope to strengthen his grip on top spot when PSG face a tricky trip to Nice.

Likewise, Jonathan David will hope to get back to scoring ways when LOSC travel to Angers while Alexandre Lacazette and Lyon host Rennes.
