Torrents of support continued to pour in for the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-Kashim Shettima presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Across the country and beyond, many Nigerians – individually and in groups – expressed confidence that the Muslim-Muslim ticket will bring progress to the country more than any other ticket by any other presidential candidates would.
Niger State APC governorship candidate in 2023 election, Alhaji Umar Bago, said the choice of Shettima as Tinubu’s running mate is the wisest decision.
Addressing reporters in Minna, the state capital, the governorship candidate hailed Asiwaju Tinubu for choosing the former Borno State governor as his running mate.
He described Shettima as highly trusted and committed party man, adding that the people have nothing to fear as he will carry everyone along.
Also, APC Northwest zone said it supported the ticket.
This followed the party’s zonal stakeholders’ meeting in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.
A statement yesterday in Abuja by the Zonal Publicity Secretary of the party, Malam Musa Mailafiya Mada, said the party discussed how the zone should position itself to bring victory to APC at all levels.
Also, the party’s chapters in South African and Ghana, as well as Arewa Youth for Tinubu, a former Accountant General of Oyo State in the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi administration, Dr. Olagoke Salami, a Delta State chieftain of the party, Chief Hyacinth Enuha, several support groups in Ondo State, Ogun State 4 BAT Forum 2023, and a former acting National Coordinator of Buhari Campaign Organisation, now Bola Campaign Organisation (BCO), Alhaji Muhammad Makinta of Borno State, promised to work for the electoral success of the Tinubu-Shettima ticket.
