A cleric, Rev. Solomon Hunwi, has urged motherless children to move closer to God.
Hunwi, former chairman of Badagry Local Government, spoke when he and his family visited Hephzibah Homes for Motherless Children in Badagry, Lagos, to celebrate the Yuletide with them.
He said the children should be obedient to the authority.
“Children, what we are celebrating today is New Year Day. Looking back from January to December, everyone will say thank God for preserving our lives.
“It takes the grace of God to be alive today. That was why I organised this party for you,” he said.
Hunwi said he had been celebrating first Sunday of the year at the orphanage in the last 40 years.
The Senior Caregiver, Miss Chinyere Okafor, said the children were happy because Hunwi organised the party for them.
She prayed God to bless him and his family and give them the grace to continue what they had started.
