As part of activities to mark its 61st anniversary, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) yesterday opened up its air assets for hundreds of Lagosians, including pupils.

Air assets like the C-130 Logistics plane, fighter jets, Diamond aircraft and assault helicopters, among others, lined up at the hangar of the 631 Aircraft Maintenance Depot, Ikeja, with pilots and crew assisting the visitors who came from across the state.

Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Logistics Command, Air Vice Marshal Adeniran Kolade Ademuwagun, said it was in line with the directive of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, to strengthen civil-military relations.

He noted that most Nigerians were not aware of what the NAF does, adding that it was important for the masses to see what the annual budgets approved for the service was being used for and how it conducted its affairs.
