The Convention Planning Committee of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has released the full list of the winners of the elections of the students’ body held at the weekend.
The Nation reports that controversy initially trailed the electoral process.
But the committee, in a communiqué by its Chairman, Bappare Muhammad, and Clerk, Adeyemi Azeez, announced Barambu, a student of the Federal University, Dutse, as the new president of the association.

The committee asked security operatives to arrest those parading themselves as new leaders of the association other than those in its list.
The following is a full list of the newly elected officers:
Usman Umar Barambu, President-Elect; Attah Nnalue Felix, Senate President-Elect; Usman Baba Kankia, Secretary General-Elect; Victor W. C. Ezenagu, VP National-Elect; Akinteye Babatunde, VP External-Elect; Suleiman Muhammad Sarki, VP Special Duties-Elect; Giwa Yisa Topnotch, National PRO-Elect; and Chinyelu Chinelo Okolie, National Treasurer-Elect.
Others are: Vanessa Egbeahie, Vice President Campus Affairs-Elect; Mohammed Shehu, Ex-Officio 2-Elect; Ossai Chika, Assistant Secretary General-Elect; Godwin Asuquo, Financial Secretary-Elect; Salawudeen Kamorudeen, Director of Travel and Exchange-Elect; Umar Afkhawa, Sports Director-Elect; Ekundina Segun Elvis, Deputy Senate President-Elect; and Olatunji Baki, Clerk-Elect.
