The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society of Nigeria (NASFAT) has urged the Federal and State Governments to create enabling environment for youth across the nation to thrive.
It said this became necessary to rid the country out of crime that jobless youths may be attracted to.
Speaking in Ibadan at a briefing to commemorate 16th NASFAT Youth Conference tagged: “Digital economy and youth entrepreneurship: Breaking new ground”, NASFAT National Youth Secretary, Kabir Raji and the conference chairman, Abdullahi Lasisi urged President Bola Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde and other political office holders to priotise youth empowerment particularly in area of the digital economy.
Raji, while delivering his speech, noted that this year’s conference was aimed to equip young ones to excel in all areas of human endeavour with necessary tools and knowledge to succeed in the digital age.
He said: “NASFAT youth conference has made substantial impact on the lives of countless young individuals. It has done that through mentorship, guidance and impactful community projects like free medical tests, community cleanup and public awareness campaigns on critical issues. The conference has served as a pillar of support and growth for many youths nationwide.”

“Building on the solid foundation laid by previous conferences, this year’s edition promises to be even more impactful. NASFAT aims to strengthen its efforts in empowering the youth to use the opportunities in the digital economy, which is rapidly transforming industries worldwide.”
Lasisi also urged the youths to channel their energies and resources towards nation-building and shun all forms of vices that are inimical to the growth, stability and socio-economic development of Nigeria.
He advised the youths to also use their vantage position positively to be self-reliant and employable without waiting for government work.
The youth conference, which includes free medical tests, community clean-up and public awareness campaign on important issues, has been instrumental in providing mentorship, guidance, and organizing community projects that make a difference.
