The Osogbo Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association has charged the newly sworn-in 31st President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Yakubu Maikyau (SAN) to roll up his sleeves and hit the ground running.

The group charged Maikyau to deliver on his electoral promises to the bar so as to justify the trust invested in him by over 22,000 members of the association who elected him as the President.

This charge was contained in a congratulatory message to the new president by the NBA Osogbo Branch, which was signed by the Chairman and Publicity Secretary of the branch Hassan Agbelekale, Esq, and Dawood Ajetunmobi,Esq.

According to the statement,  ”as the 31st President of NBA, there is no gainsaying that learned Silk Y. C. Maikyau has a burden of performance to discharge, most especially coming on the heels of the achievements recorded by the immediate past president, Mr Olumide Akpata. Therefore, history beckons on the new president to deliver on all his electoral promises so as to take the Bar to an enviable height.

‘’Your assumption of office comes at a time when our Association needs a purposeful leadership, a leader that will unite all, a leader that will give direction, a leader that will take care of the welfare of his members, a leader that will take a decision that stands the test of time on national issues. It is our humble wish that the Bar has found one in you,” the statement added.

NBA Osogbo Branch also prayed to almighty God to endow the new administration with Solomonic wisdom to enable them to steer the ship of the association to the shore of success by the time the new administration will be berthing in the next two years.
