The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has granted full and interim accreditation to 53 programmes run by the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi.
A breakdown of accredited courses shows that 27 are for National Diploma (ND) while 26 are at the Higher National Diploma (HND) level.
Thirty-two of the programmes have full accreditation while 21 received interim accreditation. The distribution according to schools shows that 13 programmes are in Engineering; 14 in Science and Technology; 10 in Environmental Technology and three in Agricultural Technology. School of Business Studies has 10 in and three in the School of General Studies.
Letters of approval signed by the Director of Programmes of the Board, Mr Musa Isgogo on behalf of the Executive Secretary, NBTE, Dr. Mas’ud Adamu Kazaure, said the approval was as a result of the accreditation exercise conducted by the Board in the polytechnic in June.
The Board commended the Polytechnic Management for adhering to its admission policy, providing regular training and development, attracting competent staff as well as providing needed infrastructural facilities and equipment for workshops and laboratories.
