‘We need details on Govt House theft’

An interest group, Ekiti Redemption Group (ERG), has demanded for more details from Governor Ayo Fayose on the alleged theft of $50,000 in the Government House.
The group challenged Fayose to speak out on the source of the money, noting that the report of the theft has brought the state’s image into disrepute.
Speaking in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, its National Coordinator, Morakinyo Ogele, called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate the matter, which he described as a “clear case of money laundering”.
Ogele said the group may be compelled to file a legal action to recover the funds belonging to the people.
The ERG chief described the theft of such a “princely amount of money” as demoralising to workers, who are owed about five months arrears of salaries.
