New head for WAEC Nigeria

Mr. Olutise Isaac Adenipekun has stepped in as the Head of Nigeria National Office (HNO) of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

He took over from Mr. Charles Eguridu, who retired Wednesday last week after a three-year tenure.

A native of Ere-Ijesa, Ilesa in Osun State, 55-year old Adenipekun  had his primary education at St. Stephen Primary School, Ere-Ijesa, and his secondary at Ijebu-Jesa Grammar School, Ijebu-Jesa.

He holds two degrees from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife -bachelors in Political Science (1983), and masters in International Relations (1987).  He also has Masters in Public Administration (M.P.A) in Management of Educational Institutions from the Lagos State University, Ojo.

Adenipekun joined WAEC on October 3, 1989 as an Assistant Registrar II.  He became a Senior Assistant Registrar in 2000; Principal Assistant Registrar in 2005; and Deputy Registrar in 2011.

From 2001, Adenipekun began holding positions of responsibility in WAEC including: Head, Meetings and General Services Department, WAEC, Yaba (1996-2001); Head, Examinations Security, WAEC Branch Office, Umuahia, Abia State (2001-2006); Head, Aptitude Tests Administration Section, Test Development Division, Ogba (2006-2008); Pioneer Officer-in-Charge, WAEC Satellite Office, Ikorodu (2008-2009); Branch Controller, WAEC Branch Office, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State (2009-2011); Pioneer Zonal Coordinator, WAEC Zonal Office, Uyo (2011- 2011); Zonal Coordinator, WAEC Zonal Office, Kaduna (2011-2015).
