The Alawe of Ilawe-Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, has called on indigenes both at home and abroad to join hands together and develop their hometown.
The monarch made the call at the inauguration of the Administrative Complex built within the palace premises by a United States-based Ilawe indigene, Dr (Mrs) Oluwatosin Sekoni.
The complex houses the Alawe’s office, a conference room, a mini-hall, reception, conveniences, among other facilities. It was inaugurated by the Owa Ooye of Okemesi-Ekiti and former Chairman of Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, Oba Michael Gbadebo Adedeji.
Other monarchs who witnessed the inauguration included the Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti, Oba Samuel Adejimi Adu; the Attah of Ayede-Ekiti, Oba Mumini Adebayo Orisagbemi; the Arajaka of Igbara-Odo, Oba Edward Jayeola and the Alare of Are-Ekiti, Oba Jacob Boluwade Adebiyi.
The Alawe, Oba Alabi commended the family of a community leader, Elder Sam Adetayo from where Dr. Sekoni hailed for pooling the resources to execute the project in two months.
The monarch who said Ilawe was ready to accommodate developmental projects such as university, urged indigenes to create enabling environment for local and foreign investment.
Inaugurating the project, Oba Gbadebo hailed the Alawe for many developmental strides witnessed since he ascended the throne six years ago, even as he urged the people not to relent in supporting their monarch.
Adetayo said the project was a token of the family’s desire to ensure positive change in their community. He described it as a challenge to other indigenes to contribute positively to their hometown.
