A leading candidate to replace Amaju Pinnick as the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on September 30 in Benin City, Dr Christian Emeruwa has held a meeting with the Presidents of institutional sports bodies in Nigeria where he explained his strategic plans for football development in the country.
The meeting, which is in line with the Head, Safety and Security Department of CAF’s policy of liaising with critical stakeholders, was attended by Presidents of National University Games Association (NUGA), National Association of Colleges of Education Games (NACEGA), Nigeria Polytechnic Games Association (NIPOGA) and Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON).
The aspirant said he has the capacity to champion holistic football development in Nigeria from primary and secondary schools; Polytechnics, Colleges of Education and Universities levels as a committed professional in Sports Administration and Organisation.
“We cannot develop football in Nigeria by closing our eyes from what is happening in the institutional sports, we are committed to partnering with these institutional sports bodies in order to grow and develop sportsmen that are well blended combining education and sports as we have seen in Nigeria in the past,” Emeruwa told the attendees. “We intend to sustain the tempo and help to support these institutional sports at their various sports competitions with regards to football, specifically.”
