NFF offsets N4.9m debt owed Flamingoes

 
The  Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) has paid the Flamingoes, the   sum of N4.7m owed them by the Glass House while they represented the country  at the FIFA U – 17 Female World Cup  held in Jordan  last year.
The NFF, scribe Dr. Sanusi Mohammed confirmed that the money was for 9 days spent in Jordan during the first round of the competitions.
However, he noted that the Federation has  cancelled winning bonuses for the junior national teams which includes male and female U – 17, and male and female U -20.

Sanusi  said: ” Honestly the Federation doesn’t  want to make noise about the payment. We are paying batch by batch. We know we are owing and gradually we will pay other national teams as soon as we get money.”
Meanwhile, the Head Coach got N305,000, while the eight members of the  back room staff got  N1.5m, Twenty-two  players got N3.2m.
It would be recalled that during the Fifa U – 17 Female World Cup Competition in Jordan, the Flamingoes did not win a single match in their group.  They played 0 -0 with England wnd were beaten by Korea and Brazil 3 -1, 1 – 0 respectively.
