NGO graduate 14 students with vocational skills

A non-governmental organisation,”God Ever True Vocational Training Institute” (GET V.T.I) has graduated 14 students after months of training.

The graduation of the students was held at the training institute premises in Ondo state.

Nine students graduated from the School of Fashion and five students from the School of Catering.

Mrs Adesola Adeosun, the registrar and founder of the Institute, in her address congratulated the students and urged them to strive for excellence as they go out to practise their trade.

She stated that the Vocational Institute has only impacted into them the basics, and advised them to seek for more knowledge.

“All you have learnt here are just the basics. They can help you to start a life. But I encourage you not to limit yourself to what you have learnt here. There’s still so much to learn. Let excellence be your watchword,” she said.

The chairman of the occasion, Venerable Olusola Akinfolarin, the Public Relations Officer of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo ,  in his address urged the graduating students to embrace Information Communication Technology.

“It is no longer fashionable to be ignorant of the roles of technology. If you choose to rely only on what you have learnt during your training here, you will soon be lagging behind”.

“You must constantly be a learner, so that you can be aware of the changes in the industries and become active and valuable members of the society, especially in your field of endeavour” he advised.

Akinfolarin further urged the graduating students to embrace vocational education as the country yearly graduate students with little job opportunity for them.

The students’ representative, Fadekemi Adeyanju, in her remarks, was full of appreciation to the registrar and teachers for their support throughout the duration of the programme.

She expressed optimism that the teachers would continue to be accessible after the programme.  “I hope that you will still be willing to offer advice and help us when needed because we know that it will be so much easier with all of you by our side ”, she said.
