A non-governmental organisation (NGO), Supportifly Humanitarian Foundation on recently conducted a free medical exercise for residents of Ibadan between ages 18 and 70.

The free medical outreach was centered on HIV test, hepatitis, blood pressure and others.

Speaking on the intervention, the NGO Program Director, Yusuf Balkis, stated that the outreach was basically for people in need.

She said, “We all know health is wealth and there are people that do not have the luxury to go to hospitals for tests.

“Due to this, we organized this outreach for them to come for medical check, conduct various tests and give them necessary medications as advised by the professionals we have brought on board with us.”

She noted that they were overwhelmed by the number of people who showed up to have themselves tested.

Speaking to one of the beneficiaries of the medical outreach hosted by Supportifly Humanitarian Foundation, Olatunji Taiwo, he said that he was quite surprised with the number of medical tests that were conducted by the foundation.

He said, “I’m 62 and been privileged to attend a few medical outreach organized by different charity groups but this stood out due to the number of tests conducted and the fact that we were handed some medicines to aid what they saw while testing us.”

Taiwo further noted that he has taken note of his medical condition at present and would work to ensure that he follows the instructions given to him by the doctors who had him tested.

Balkis also added that the NGO has three more outreaches to execute in 2023 and she hopes that they would be able to touch more lives.
