A non governmental organisation, Supportifly Humanitarian Foundation will be carrying out a free medical outreach in Ibadan, Oyo State capital on Thursday, May 25.
The announcement was made through the foundation’s Executive Director, Bolarinwa Haishah Omotunde, who stated that Supportifly’s commitment to people’s health, especially the inidigent, metamorphosed into the need for the outreach.
She said, “For many indigents, what matters the most to them is to feed and find a way to secure the next meal, while struggling to do this, they pay no or less attention to their own health. As a foundation, we saw the need to ensure that these people are tested and are given adequate recommendations by medical experts in order to live well.
“Also, we made this open to adults from ages 18 to 70 because most indigents in this age range still find it difficult to fend for themselves. Should we be able to make them aware about their immediate health status, they’ll become cognizant and take appropriate measures to ensure that their own life is preserved by following the guidelines given by experts who are on ground.”
Haishah noted that the foundation will be bringing experts on ground who will be testing blood pressure, blood sugar, hepatitis and HIV.
On the tests to be carried out, she said, “These are important issues in a human body system that they love with without being aware of the dangers. We will ensure that they get the right information needed to better their medical life.”
On the choice of location for the outreach, she added, “The outreach will be happening at Mapo Hall, Oke Mapo, Ibadan, the state’s capital. We chose Mapo because it is central to Ibadan and accessible to people.”
She finally stated that in accordance with the objectives of the foundation, Supportifly will continue to support the less privileged in every ways possible that they can be supported.
