‘Nigeria needs Tinubu’s wealth of experience’

A lawyer, Olumide Braithwaite, has said Nigeria needs the experience of All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

He said the former Lagos State governor possesses huge leadership know-how and is determined to move the nation forward.

Braithwaite, son of late elder statesman and former presidential candidate/founder of Nigeria Advance Party (NAP) Tunji Braithwaite, said he would embark on a door-to-door campaign for Tinubu.

In a statement, he said the establishment of the Tinubu-Shettima Independent Campaign Council (ICC), of which he is a member, was a masterstroke by the presidential candidate.

The ICC was established to complement the APC Presidential Campaign Council, with a special focus on grassroots campaign and door-to-door mobilisation of electorates.

Braithwaite said: “This kind of structure is completely novel in our history of politics in Nigeria.

“It involves door to door campaigns within the wards of 774 local government areas across the country.”

According to him, “Asiwaju Tinubu must be commended for being revolutionary in his ideological re-orientation” by creating the ICC.

Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola (SAN); senator representing Nasarawa North senatorial district, Tanko Al-Makura and former Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbe, head separate directorates of the ICC.

It will work to expand Tinubu’s support base to the hinterlands while adopting door-to-door, hamlet-to-hamlet campaigns/visitations, sensitisation, outreach meetings, amongst others.
