Nigeria sets up first African export trade house in China

The Federal Government has set up the first African export trade house since President Xi Jinping announced the establishment of Pilot Zone for In-depth China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation in China, which fully reflects the support of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC).

The Executive Director/CEO, NEPC, Ezra Yakusak, said the Council was completely involved in piloting the in depth economic trade cooperation between China and Africa and their confidence in expanding the business in the Chinese market.

Yakusak assured that the Council would ensure steady flow of Nigerian products into China while continually introducing more suitable Chinese products into Africa.

He said: “As a research and promotion organisation for China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation, we are willing to cooperate comprehensively with relevant parties in Nigeria on the issues of Pilot Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Africa.

“Both sides will conduct targeted joint research on bilateral issues while demanding a proposed practical and visible solutions for both government to facilitate strong economy and trade Cooperation as the both strive towards the goal of in depth pilot cooperation.”

The President of China-Africa Economic and Trade Promotion Council, Xu Xiangping assured the Federal Government of full support and protection of the trade house in Hunan province of China.

He noted that Nigeria is an economic power house, most populous agricultural country in Africa. It has a wide variety of products and enormous potential for agricultural development. “Based on the characteristics of agriculture in Nigeria, we had initially proposed a model of agricultural industrialization that integrates planting, financing, technology, processing and trade,” he said.
