Nigerians advised to be security conscious during Xmas

The Police Assistance Committee (PAC) has urged Nigerians to be security conscious and be extremely watchful for strange movements in their neighborhoods and at all public places, including motor parks, shopping malls and hotels as the nation   celebrates Christmas and New Year.

While addressing members during the PAC end of year sensitization workshop held in Lagos, the Director General, Dr. Martins John-Oni, called on members comprising chairmen, secretaries and PRO’S of traders association/artisans as well as Chief Security Officers (CSOs) of companies, hotels and worship places to work closely with the police and other security agencies by passing  to them information that could assist in the prevention and combating of crimes during the celebration season.

The PAC boss urged the general public to be extremely security conscious during the yuletide season by ensuring that all strange movements and objects found in their surroundings are promptly brought to the attention of security agencies, while also taking due advantage of the open-door policy of the Nigerian police which has given direct access to the public to report all security-related matters to them.

Dr. John Oni commended the efforts of the President Buhari-led Federal Government in addressing the security situation of the country with necessary zeal, as well as all heads of security agencies, particularly the armed forces and the Police for mobilizing their officers and men to provide adequate security in the country, adding that the PAC would always be ready to contribute their quota in this direction.
