Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested nine male suspects involved in stealing tricycles, generators and street light poles.
In a statement, the comman’s Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police Daniel Ndukwe, said some of the suspects were arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition in separations.
Ndukwe said the arrests were efforts to sustain proactive and results-driven policing in Enugu State.
Ndukwe said: “On February 17, 2025, about 11:27 a.m., Police operatives attached to the Unity Division of the Command, in collaboration with the Neighbourhood Watch Group, arrested Onyebuchi Ukwu, 20, and recovered a local pistol with one cartridge.

Police operatives of New Haven Division also arrested Samuel Kalu, for allegedly stealing a Bajaj tricycle from where it was parked at Edenwu Street, New Haven.”
The same operatives also arrested one Ibrahim Ayuba, male, 23 and recovered a blue Kemage generator valued at N700,000.
The two suspects have been arraigned in court and remanded in the Correctional Custodial Centre.
Also, Police operatives of the Emene Division on Nkwubor/Adoration Road, Enugu, on February 9, intercepted a Bajaj tricycle without a registration number. The rider, Arinze Onyia, male, 33, was arrested and will be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded.
