NIS Comptroller-General clarifies contactless passport application

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mrs. Wura-Ola Adepoju has clarified some of the issues relating to the new contactless passport application scheme.

She made this clarification in an interview on Channel TV’s Sunrise Daily.

On first-time applicants, she said: “First-time applicants will have to go to our offices for biometric capturing.”

She further announced a date when the contactless application would start working fully for those renewing their application.

She said: “Starting February 8, those applying for renewal will be doing so from the comfort of their homes as we already have their data.”
