Former governor of Enugu State Dr Chimaroke Nnamani yesterday retained the senatorial ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to contest the Enugu East Senatorial District in the 2023 general elections.
Nnamani currently represents the district in the Senate.
The returning officer in the primary, Chinedu Onu adjudged the exercise “free and transparent.”
A fierce contest was ongoing in Enugu West Senatorial District as aspirants were running neck to neck in the exercise holding at Awgu.
As of the time of filing this report, the results of the election were still being expected.
