‘No remorse by APC members involved in anti-party activities, no reconciliation’

Oyetola

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has said he is not opposed to reconciling with members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, who were involved in anti-party activities.

He, however, said APC members involved anti-party activities during the 2022 Osun State Governorship Election and 2023 General Election must be remorseful and promised not to do so again before discussing reconciliation.

Oyetola, ex-governor of the state, made this known yesterday at Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Office, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo during a welcome reception.

Addressing party members and leadership in Yoruba language, he said: “I’m privileged; sometimes God will test our faith, if we are not too bitter during trial, God will reward us. God gave us minister instead of governor.

“I want to assure you that we are going to reclaim Osun in 2026 by the grace of God. I want to applaud the party loyalists and leadership of APC in Osun. Some members of the party were involved in anti-party activities, but I want to commend you for your steadfastness for your party.”

Oyetola added: “APC is strong in Osun. I am in support of punishing those that were involved in anti-party activities within the APC. I am giving this party my all to see to its success. Many of you have aspirations within this party, so when some people want to destabilise it, they should be dealt with.

“Those yet to mingle with members involved in anti-party activities should be brought back to the fold. There is room for reconciliation, it is good, I am in support of it, but anybody that you will reconcile with must show remorse and be sober. He should admit his mistake and vow not to repeat same.”

He warned members not to associate themselves with any faction and caucus in the APC.
