The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Sokoto State Command, has arrested a man and four of persons said to be his accomplices for allegedly sodomising his seven-year-old nephew.

The State NSCDC’s Commandant, Mr Muhammad Dada, said yesterday that all the suspects were arrested when neighbours raised the alarm over the attack.

“Our investigation revealed that the uncle of the victim was the first suspect who raped the underage boy and thereafter invited four other persons.

“The command has obtained a court order to further detain the suspects to conclude investigation on their matter before they will be charged to court.”

The commandant advised parents and guardians to keep close watch over their children and wards.

He commended  the prompt response from members of the public, saying community policing was the best for safety and security of the people.
