As part of efforts to enhance the engineering profession, the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), Ughelli Branch in Delta State, over the weekend inducted her new members, just as it presented the award of excellence to the Chief Executive Officer of Damotech Limited, Chief (Dr) Danial Omoyibo the Omoghagha of Isoko Nation.
The induction lecture tagged: ‘The Petroleum Industrial Act: Its Potencies for Nigeria Engineers and National Development’ was held at Ughelli, in Ughelli North LGA of Delta State.
In his inaugural speech, the President of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, Engr. Tasiu Sa’ad Gidari-Wudil, FNSE, charged the inductees to be dedicated and shun any act that will bring disrepute to the profession, adding that engineering is a noble profession to be reckoned with.
Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of NSE in Ughelli branch, Delta state chapter, Isaiah Ogho, FNSE, said, “The theme of this year’s public lecture was chosen to emphasise the importance of this Act to the Nigeria Engineers and how Nigeria engineers can take advantage of this Act.”
While calling the new members of the profession, Ogho encouraged them to be ready to contribute their quota to the Society.

“You have been achievers, but may this award of honors spur you to continue to contribute to the national growth and development of Nigeria.”
Mark Tubotein H. Williams, said, “The oil and gas industry plays a significant role in the development of the economy of Nigeria, both in terms of revenue generation and for commercial viability, noting that, the petroleum Industry bill was signed into law by the immediate past President Muhammadu Buhari on 16th August 2021 after many tussles for the purpose of re-organising and repositioning the petroleum sector for proper service delivering.”
The high points of the ceremony were the successful induction of the new members of the profession by Engr. Isaiah Ogho and successfully presentation the award of excellence to the Chief Executive Officer of Damotech Limited Chief (Dr.), Danial Omoyibo by the Royal father of the day His Royal Majesty (HRM), Matthew Ediri Egbi Owahwa 11, JP, the Okobaro of Ughievwen kingdom respectively and others.
