NUPRC to workers’ union: prove your allegations

The management of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has debunked the allegation of mismanagement by its workers’ union.

It described the alleged misconduct as wild, baseless and unfounded.

In a statement yesterday, the regulatory agency challenged those behind the allegation to publish details of the alleged wrongdoings and to produce other documentary evidence to support their case.

The NUPRC also denied wasting money on sensitisation workshops and renovation of offices across the country.

The agency accused the union of deliberate gang-up to tarnish the image of its Chief Executive, Gbenga Komolafe, as well as undermine his achievements.

It also defended recent recruitments into some positions in the commission, saying the exercise was done in compliance with all procedures and the certification by relevant agencies.

NUPRC urged the public to disregard the allegations, which it described as wild, saying it was sponsored by some political jobbers seeking to replace the management of the commission.
