Operatives of the Ondo State Command of the Department of State Service (DSS) have arrested a nursing mother and five men over kidnap of children in the state.
The suspected kidnap syndicate was said to have abducted many children aged between two and four years.
Director of DSS in Ondo State, Mr Jonathan Kure, who spoke while parading the suspects, said the nursing mother also served as armourer for the gang and a wife to one of the suspects.
Kure said the operation was carried out in collaboration with the Army.
He said further investigation would continue, adding that the suspects would soon be charged to court.
“They have tormented so many families, especially within Akure metropolis. A nursing mother and wife of one of the kidnappers is one of them; she also plays the role of armourer to the group,” he said
Items paraded along with the suspects included laptops, cash, and locally-made guns, among others
Acting Governor of the state, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who was at the DSS office, urged landlords to always do proper profiling of their tenants and know the kind of work they do.
