LAGOS monarch, Oba Saheed Elegushi’s love for sports has made him stay committed to its events. Months after he unveiled the Elegushi Peace Cup, he has also endorsed the National Universities Games (NUGA) 2022, which will take place at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
Oba Elegushi received NUGA’s committee members in his palace during the week and pledged his support for the competition. The team was led by UNILAG’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Toyin Ogundipe.
Every year, there is also Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi Tennis Cup and the king is always fully in support of it
Speaking at the tournament last year, Elegbusi described sports as a good way to give back to society and also to take youths off the streets. “I’m very passionate about sports and I believe this is an opportunity to get the youth busy and also discover some talents for the state and the country at large,” he said.
