Oba of Lagos to C&S leaders: Display your power of prayers to ensure peace, unity in Nigeria

The Oba of Lagos, His Royal Majesty, Oba Rilwan Aremu Akinolu, has called on Christians, especially members of the Cherubim & Seraphim Church, to display their power of prayers and prophecy to ensure there is peace and unity among Nigerians.

The monarch made the plea at his Iga Idunganran Palace on Lagos Island on Thursday, when he received a delegation of Ecclesiastical Council of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria.

The clergies were at the Oba of Lagos palace on a courtesy visit as part of activities marking the centenary anniversary of the Cherubim & Seraphim church.

The First Class monarch, who quoted many Bible and Qu’ran passages off hand during the visit, urged leaders of the Church not to relent in their prayers for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, for both to succeed in the assignments God has given to them at this time.

Said he, “I know the Cherubim & Seraphim Church very well right from the time I was young. I know they have power in their tongues when they pray and hold their services. So, I urge the church and its leaders to double their prayers for President Tinubu and Governor Sanwo-Olu to succeed in their assignments. They both need your prayers to continue to them.

“I urge the church to also pray against the machinations of the devil and its forces as we march towards 2027 general elections. We need all hands to be on deck to ensure that peace prevails before and after the elections. Together, we will make this country great again,” he said.

Responding to the monarch’s demands, Archbishop Albert Apanisile, who led the delegation, assured Oba Akiolu of the usual support of the church to governments at all levels, especially in prayers. His words, “First and foremost, we are happy to be at the palace and with the reception we got from Kabiyesi.

“Since prayer is our forte, we will continue to offer prayers for peace and unity among Nigerians as you have demanded. That is given to Kabiyesi. This our centenary anniversary is all about prayers for all governments at all levels in all parts of the country. There will be peace in Nigeria and among every tribe in Nigeria in Jesus’ name.”
