An 82 year-old man, Prince Aminu Musa Oyebamiji, has been sent to the Agodi Prison by an Ibadan Chief Magistrate Court over alleged N41million fraud.
Oyebamiji and other persons at large were arraigned on a three-count charge of obtaining money under false pretence.
The offences are punishable under section 516 of Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol. 11 Laws of Oyo State, Nigeria 2000.
According to the court’s charge sheet, the offences were committed in June 2015 at Alalubosa area of Ibadan.
The accused persons were accused of fraudulently obtaining the money from one Mr. Adeniyi Aderemi under the pretence of awarding him a contract for the rehabilitation of Ahoda Community through Baminco Nigeria Limited.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Jejelaye Ogunbona granted the accused N2.5m bail with two sureties in like sum.
