Odunmbaku’s wife confirmed

The Ondo State House of Assembly yesterday confirmed Mrs Olasimi Akindele-Odunmbaku as a commissioner.

The Speaker, Jumoke Akindele, confirmed and ratified the nominee after a unanimous vote in support of the confirmation.

After an exhaustive question-and-answer session, and a thorough study of her curriculum vitae, the House observed that Odumbaku performed brilliantly.

Mrs. Odumbaku thanked Governor Olusegun Mimiko, describing the appointment as a call to service.  She said she had always been a loyal Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member since 2004.

“The constitution says there is freedom of party. My marriage is different from my political affiliations, and I have a service to my state, my country and my people.

“I have always been an advocate of gender equality in government because we form half of the voting population and I think we should be part of the decision-making process,” she said.
