The Ogun State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has hailed the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), especially the men and officers of the Ogun State Command under the leadership of Commissioner of Police,CP Lanre Ogunlowo for rescuing Mrs Folashade Odumosu, wife of the retired Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu.
On January 16, 2025, four masked gunmen forcibly abducted Mrs. Odumosu from her Lexus Jeep outside her residence in Arepo, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.
However, in a rare display of professionalism and teamwork, police operatives attached to the Ogun State Command on Thursday successfully neutralized the kidnappers of Mrs. Odumosu and freed her unhurt.

A statement issued in Abeokuta on Friday by the State Publicity Secretary of PDP, Austin Oniyokor, quoted the State Chairman, Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele, Ph.D., as saying “As a party, we salute the professionalism and swift response of the men and officers of the Ogun State Police Command under the leadership of CP Lanre Ogunlowo.
“We reckon that security matters are serious issues and multi-faceted. They have socio-economic and even technological perspectives. They should not be politicised under any guise. That is why we hasten to distance ourselves from the unguarded statements of one Abayomi Tella who was reported as casting aspersion on the state government and other public institutions over the incident and other security challenges.
“Mr. Tella could not have spoken on behalf of the Ogun State chapter of the PDP. At best, he is the Chairman of the Ladi Adebutu Democratic Organisation (LADO) and ex-member of the PDP who did not register with the mainstream PDP structure in the state under the leadership of Hon. Sikirulai Olawale Ogundele, Ph.D. So, he does not speak for PDP.”
