Ohafia FRSC marks anniversary with schools’ debate

The Ohafia Unit Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Abia State has celebrated the eighth year of its establishment with a debate for senior secondary school (SSS2) pupils.

The debate produced four brilliant pupils from two schools. They were offered scholarship by a philanthropist, Mr Tony Ndu.

The beneficiaries include Margaret Kalu and Divine Uma of Ucy Model School at Ebem, as well as Deborah Lebechi and Anthony Dominic of Ifemba International Academy at Akanu, both in Ohafia Local Government Area.

Ndu presented cheques to the beneficiaries at FRSC’s unit command office in the presence of their parents, other pupils and teachers.

The philanthropist said the scholarship was for the pupils of SSS 2, 3 and West African School Certificate Examination (WASCE).

He said: “These pupils were outstanding. I was deeply impressed by their brilliance during the debate.”

Assistant Corps Commander in charge of the unit, Mr Charles Ezichi, described Ndu as “a worthy Nigerian, a philanthropist of note and a lover of education”.

Parents of the pupils, Mr Kalu Iro, Mrs Rebecca Ômasiri Uma, Rev. Lebechi and Mrs Veronica Dominic, prayed God to reward Ndu for putting smiles on their faces.
